Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled a chilling glimpse into their upcoming “Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment” attraction at Universal Epic Universe, set to open in 2025. This groundbreaking ride promises to be their most terrifying yet, featuring 14 incredibly lifelike animated figures depicting iconic Universal Monsters.
Deep Within Frankenstein Manor
The journey begins in the depths of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of the infamous scientist, conducts her daring experiments. Guests are invited to witness her demonstration of controlling these monstrous creations, but as with any Frankenstein tale, things go horribly wrong. The monsters break free, unleashing a torrent of chaos upon the hapless visitors.

Hold on tight as you encounter these technologically advanced, terrifying beasts:
- Frankenstein’s Monster: Towering at nine feet and weighing over 800 pounds, this imposing figure will send shivers down your spine. You might even catch him lumbering through Dr. Frankenstein’s lab during the pre-show.
- Dracula: The quintessential vampire, Dracula, will be a constant source of dread throughout the ride. Guests beware – he’s the most powerful monster Dr. Frankenstein attempted to control, and now he leads the terrifying pack.
- The Wolf Man: With razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws, the Wolf Man’s ferocious presence will be sure to raise your heart rate as you try to escape his grasp.
- The Creature from the Black Lagoon: Beware the inky depths! The amphibious Gill-man lurks within the Black Lagoon, ready to join the monstrous mayhem.
Even if “Monsters Unchained” seems too intense, Dark Universe still offers plenty of thrills. Guests can encounter other legendary monsters for meet-and-greets and photo ops. These include Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster, the alluring Bride of Frankenstein, and even the enigmatic Invisible Man. The eerie village will also be bustling with intriguing characters, from Dr. Frankenstein’s assistant, Ygor, to an eccentric monster hunter and a talented musician weaving tales of terror.
