Disney Springs officially kicked off the holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort with a dazzling tree lighting ceremony.
The 45-foot Christmas tree, a centerpiece of the festivities, was illuminated by Walt Disney World leadership amidst a flurry of festive entertainment. Toy soldier stilt walkers marched alongside a lively brass band, creating an atmosphere of pure holiday cheer.
This ceremonial lighting marks the beginning of a season brimming with magic across Walt Disney World. From Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights to the enchanting EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, guests have countless opportunities to revel in the holiday spirit.
Throughout the resort, guests can expect to encounter seasonal décor, exciting new entertainment, and a delightful array of limited-time holiday treats in all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and Disney resort hotels.
A highlight of this year’s celebrations is the interactive storytelling window displays outside the World of Disney store. These captivating displays celebrate the classic tradition of writing letters to Santa Claus, featuring beloved Disney characters. Guests can tap their MagicBand+ to unlock unique animations and surprises, adding an extra layer of magic to the holiday experience.
The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth is another must-see. This enchanting display features 21 beautifully themed trees, each inspired by beloved Disney films such as “Coco,” “Star Wars,” and “Toy Story.” Many of these trees invite guest interaction through MagicBand+, revealing delightful surprises with each tap.
Families can also create lasting memories with a visit to the new Santa Claus greeting location in the marketplace. This cozy setting, complete with cheerful decorations and festive music, provides the perfect backdrop for heartwarming family photos. Guests can join a virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app to meet Santa now through December 24th.
