Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that the walk-through attraction Poseidon’s Fury, situated in the Lost Continent area of the park, will have its final shows on May 9, 2023, and will close its doors to the public on May 10, 2023.

The attraction was recently refurbished, with updates to its exterior, water features, and effects. It reopened in March 2022 after a hiatus due to pandemic-related cost-saving measures and refurbishment efforts. The company has yet to reveal a replacement for the long-standing attraction, but has hinted that new experiences are in the works. Poseidon’s Fury takes visitors through the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon, pitting them against the evil Lord Darkennon in a dramatic finale that includes four different types of lasers and over 200 flame effects.

Lost Continent, where the attraction is located, has already seen half of its area removed and transformed into the original Wizarding World, which opened in 2010. Since then, the area has only been home to Poseidon’s Fury and the Eighth Voyage of Sindbad stunt show, which closed permanently in 2018. After Poseidon’s Fury closes, only the Mythos dining location, two small outdoor dining spots, and a handful of shops will remain. While these offerings may or may not remain open in the future, the company has not yet announced any plans regarding them.
