We are delighted to inform you that Tiana’s Palace restaurant will officially open its doors in Disneyland park on September 7, 2023! This reimagined quick-service eatery draws inspiration from the restaurant Princess Tiana established in the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “The Princess and the Frog.”
The restaurant is adorned with elegant and subtle details that cleverly allude to Tiana’s vibrant history in New Orleans. Below the illuminated marquee that reads “Tiana’s Palace” hanging over a metallic gold balcony, you’ll find an emerald green wrought iron railing and awnings dyed in yellow and green, reminiscent of Tiana’s stunning formal ball gown. As you dine at yellow tabletops and relax in vanilla-colored chairs with green seats under the shade of yellow and green umbrellas, you’ll be surrounded by the festive colors of Mardi Gras.
The interior of the restaurant is also inspired by the film, featuring a grand mural of the bayou. Throughout the space, you’ll spot various nods to Tiana’s story, such as lilies depicted on numerous signs, plaques, and light fixtures, frog porcelain figurines, cookbooks displayed on small shelves that Tiana has collected, and her father’s cherished gumbo spoon proudly exhibited. Keep an eye out for letters from her father and neighbors on display, along with a childhood photograph of Tiana.
The launch of Tiana’s Palace restaurant signifies the next phase in bringing more of Princess Tiana’s tales to life in New Orleans Square. This journey began with Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets last year and will continue with the debut of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction in 2024.
