The Town Square Theater, situated on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom, has been a notable attraction since its opening in April 2011. It replaced The Walt Disney Story and the Town Square Exposition Hall, and its primary purpose is to provide a meet-and-greet location for guests to interact with Mickey Mouse. The theater became Mickey’s permanent meet-and-greet spot following the closure of Mickey’s Toontown Fair.
In March 2023, The Art of Disney store found a new home within the theater’s lobby, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
The right room of the Town Square Theater has always been dedicated to Mickey Mouse encounters. Initially, Mickey donned his classic tuxedo outfit, but in 2013, he began wearing an exclusive magician outfit specifically designed for this location. Apart from special events, this magician attire became Mickey’s default costume for meet-and-greets at the theater. Additionally, a talking version of Mickey was introduced in October 2013, following play-testing that started in October 2011. However, in May 2018, Mickey reverted back to the non-talking version.
Minnie Mouse was originally available for meet-and-greets at the Town Square Theater from 2011 to 2012, after which she relocated to Pete’s Silly Sideshow. However, Minnie occasionally reunites with Mickey for special occasions such as the 90th Birthday celebrations and the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations, during which they both wear unique outfits commemorating these events.
