Epcot

EPCOT, “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow”, opened on October 1, 1982. It was conceived by Walt Disney based on the new ideas and technologies emerging from American industry at the time, and dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in technology and international culture through four neighborhoods and diverse dining options.

The park is now divided into four neighborhoods, each representing an important aspect of the world and its people. These include World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. Each neighborhood offers new experiences that are rooted in authenticity and innovation, taking guests to new destinations, and showcasing the magic of possibility.

Home to a variety of food and beverage options, with a particular focus on international cuisine. Some of the popular dining options include the Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada, Biergarten Restaurant in Germany, and The Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom. The park also hosts the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which features a variety of food and beverage options from around the world, as well as live music and other entertainment.

While it has traditionally been considered an “adult” park, Disney has worked to overcome this reputation. The introduction of Kidcot Fun Stops in World Showcase and the new Harmonious nighttime spectacular, debuting October 1, 2021, have made the park more appealing to children. Additionally, the wide open and expansive layout of the park provides a refreshing contrast to the more crowded and enclosed theme parks. Visitors can easily navigate to the park via boat, bus, the Disney Skyliner, or monorail.

New & Upcoming EPCOT Attractions!

Walt Disney once stated that EPCOT “would always be in a state of becoming”, and that it is a place that changes with the times. This is being honored and exemplified by the ongoing transformation that is the biggest in the history of any Disney park. This transformation will bring new and immersive storytelling experiences through a variety of new attractions and experiences.

The transformation of the park will be completed with four distinct neighborhoods that reflect important aspects of the world and its people. These neighborhoods will be World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. Each neighborhood will offer new and authentic experiences that will take guests to new destinations, where reality is transformed into a celebration of curiosity, discovery, and the magic of possibility.

The entrance to EPCOT has been completed and it features new pathways, greenery areas, and a redesigned fountain. The new design pays tribute to the park’s original entrance while offering a fresh perspective on classic elements.
