Disneyland

Disneyland, Walt Disney’s original theme park vision, centered around the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, was the first Disney Park ever built. It opened in 1955 and is often referred to as the “Happiest Place on Earth.” The park is divided into several themed sections, including Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Tomorrowland.

Disneyland Park’s enchanting magic is brought to reality through the creation of nine distinct themed lands.

Main Street, U.S.A.:

Here, the hustle and bustle of modern life transforms into the charming and comforting ambiance of early 20th-century America. It captures the essence of small-town life as it existed at the turn of the century.

Tomorrowland:

This captivating realm of imagination, exploration, and wonder features a landscape filled with spinning spaceships (Astro Orbiter), fast-moving rocket vehicles (Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Space Mountain), and speedy roadsters (Autopia).

Adventureland:

This realm of discovery is a patchwork of far-flung destinations. Aspiring adventurers can embark on a journey to the tropical enchantment of Polynesia (Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room), navigate the exotic rivers of the world (Jungle Cruise), and traverse the steamy jungles of India (Indiana Jones Adventure).

Frontierland:

A vivid panorama of America’s pioneering history unfolds, spanning from the bustling riverfronts of the late 1700s along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers (Columbia Sailing Ship, Mark Twain Riverboat, Tom Sawyer Island) to the dusty deserts of the 1880s in the southwest (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Golden Horseshoe).

Fantasyland:

Beloved childhood stories adapted from classic Disney animated films come to life in this timeless realm of imagination. Within this enchanting Old World setting, guests can soar to Never Land (Peter Pan’s Flight), explore the Pride Lands (“Tale of the Lion King”), witness an elephant take flight (Dumbo the Flying Elephant), venture into dazzling mines (Snow White’s Enchanted Wish), or join a whimsical tea party (Alice in Wonderland).

New Orleans Square:

Recreating the charm of the Crescent City as it was over 150 years ago, this land exudes elegance and allure amidst its winding streets and charming shops, all while blending seamlessly with jazz, restless spirits (Haunted Mansion), and swashbuckling pirates (Pirates of the Caribbean).

Critter Country:

Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the backwoods, this shaded glen invites guests to discover the wonders of the wilderness with Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes. Also residing in this land are Winnie the Pooh and his beloved friends from the Hundred Acre Wood (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh).

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge:

Guests are transported to a distant galaxy on an odyssey to Batuu, a unique location within a story that began in 1977 with the original Star Wars film. Visitors become integral to the narrative as they savor galactic cuisine and beverages, explore an intriguing array of merchant shops, and take command of the galaxy’s most renowned ship, the Millennium Falcon, on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Additionally, they can engage in an epic clash against the First Order on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Mickey’s Toontown:

Brimming with vibrant colors and playful energy, this “town” embodies a 1930s Disney cartoon brought to life in a zany fashion. From whirlwind adventures in a cartoon universe (Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin) to open green spaces ideal for a picnic, this civic center captures a slice of animated “reel” life. The reimagined Mickey’s Toontown officially opened its doors on March 19, 2023, featuring new attractions, dining options, and interactive play areas designed to inspire family fun and togetherness.

Additionally, the park features a variety of live entertainment shows, including the nightly fireworks spectacular, “Disneyland Forever,” and the return of the parade “Magic Happens” on February 24th, 2023.
